Saw in the wiki about shutting down cards if no documented business income. But are people here saying if you just have a sole proprietorship but nothing about any income from it on a tax return that youll be ok. My total annual income reported to Amex was right. Sorry trying to read this thread on my phone.

B"H they called back 1/2 hr later and said they looked at her whole history and were releasing the F/R. Now Im afraid for her to spend the last $3k she needs on the Gold card. Gonna pay off card first also. Any additional advice on how to handle going forward? Smaller amounts at Target? More amounts from different vendors?

They just released that FR just like that? You sure it was a real FR not mini FR?

Yeah Amex sent the email requesting tax returns and some other stuff. Then called back and the F/R agent said she didnt have all info in front of her and she looked back at all of my wifes Amex history and was now releasing the hold on her 3 cards and the F/R but we should call the credit line to find out about not having the cards keep being declined for fraud.

How much did you spend on that day that caused the F/R ?

How much time do you have until you complete the spend for signup bonus? It goes without saying that you shouldn't rush it. Spending is smaller amounts is probably a good idea too.

In all seriousness there basically are no rules for triggers I don't think 7k is gonna be one of them... Unless someone who can handle one wants to be a guinea pig?

A lot of it probably depends on what you normally do with your other cards from that bank. Overall tho I think since its a legit charge it should be fine.

Have had personal for a while.

I need to do 20k to get the 150k bonus.
And 10k to get the 75k bonus.

All has to be done over 90 days.

What is the smartest way to avoid an FR.

It will all be from normal spending, but how should I devide it up, and pay it up?

There is no real way to know the answer just that it probably makes the most sense to not do it all within 30 days and not to do big big spend on a daily basis if AMEX doesnt really know your spending patterns yet.
