If not working, then what to do? I assume the cancellation policy expires after the check in time starts. I read somewhere if not checked in and not cancelled, Hyatt will change a night as a cash to the credit.

The seller would have to call in and convert the stay to guest of honor, or if they're a non-globalist they would just gift the stay to you.  That would then allow you to check in.  There's no reason for the buyer to take any "loss" other than if a suite upgrade award was used, that can't be transferred between accounts.

So even at the check in time, if the seller calls,  reservation can still be changed from second guest to gift to the buyer?

Yes. Note that I'm not sure if this is different with the Hyatt changes being implemented next year but that is the case right now.

PSA: Apparently the changes to GoH bookings have also impacted certs. Agent noted that GoH’s are only allowed on points / cash bookings.

Huge bummer as this wasn’t noted on their list of changes.. unless I missed something.

Is this accurate? If you are a Globalist and click into the terms and conditions for the Guest of Honor awards, it says "Guest of Honor award may be applied where the member makes a paid reservation or redeems a free night award or points + cash award in accordance with the World of Hyatt terms."

Also note that FNCs can now be formally gifted to another member as I see functionality to do so within the Hyatt app.
