Let's gauge whether there's interest for an at-cost raffle so a lucky someone can join @Dan  and @Something Fishy in the trip of a lifetime, while everyone else will sob until someone makes a raffle #3. Please enter how much you'd send here, and I will update our progress.

Here are the terms that are the most fair to me:
Same ticket options that the Chabad raffle provided:

1 ticket for $118
2 tickets for $180
5 tickets for $360
10 tickets for $700
15 tickets for $1000
30 tickets for $1800
100 tickets for $5000

Minimum of $12,995

Any excess will be refunded to the participants proportionally, unless we have double the minimum, in which case two spots will be raffled off.

Dan - Can you provide us with a ddf discount (i.e. at cost)?

If people would prefer a poll here I can do so, but it's a lot quicker to total $s on a form. And I'd like some way of coming up with an email list for those interested, which is why I made email mandatory and ddf handle optional. But if people would prefer something else, let me know.
I am not confident we'll get sufficient interest unless this is further discounted or advertised.

why is it being structured with discounts for higher purchases? this isnt tzedakah. just make 1 ticket for 100 with 150 entries.

Personally I structured it that way as it incentivizes higher spending per user.
If there were no discounts I'd expect to have sold around 648 tickets at $118=$76.4K. The pot grew by about $30K due to those incentive levels. Bigger pot=less need to find more buyers.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

i understand for tzedakah why it was like that. when its just ddf'ers trying to chip in, i don't see how it makes sense.

Lowers the number of DDFers that need to buy in to make the raffle viable.

Would it include all the original benefits that Dan offered in the first Raffel?

Nope, this has nothing to do with me, nor is it to raise funds for tzedaka.

True. I personally would rather have the odds lowered. It's why I didn't buy in on the last one.

@Dan , how would a single berth in a triple cabin work? We'd be paired up with someone random? Jewish? Male? Ddf? Any any ddf discount?

Male, from our group if possible. OTherwise someone random, unless there simply aren't any others in a triple.

At the moment we have 1, probably 2 in a triple already.

And then they get the room to themselves?

Seriously, if you will make a raffle make it something nice with 2 tickets.
You really want to win and spend time and sleep with some random stranger/s, possibly not even from the Dansdeals group, for 2 whole weeks?

I get it, the the group might have 1 or 2 people booked in a triple, and might have an obligation to One Ocean Expedition to fill up the triple, or allow One Expedition to fill it for you, but c'mon, make the raffle nice for a 2 person private room.

There's also the fact that Twin cabins are sold out.

I thought the first one was a decent deal at 65-70k sold. If I knew it was 100K I would not have bought a ticket.
I just found a new supply of forks!
