IIRC you need to put in your credit card number when you sign up

You can apply,but if you want amex to pay for it you have to use your card for the application fee.
The application can't be completed without payment.

Glad to be of assistance, You can start the application and fill out some of the info already,but that will only save about 5 minutes.

After you get the card,submit the application,and get conditionally approved for the interview,keep checking for cancellations...iirc I got a slot less than a week from applying.

There's no way to check availability before you apply & get approved for the interview,unless you have someone who can schedule their own appt look for you.

You can start using it instantly,and your GE card which you only need for land crossings into Canada comes in the mail.

Use a utility bill iinstead, worked for me.
