Well that's the scariest thing I read on the internet today.
+1. I belive in germany its legal to terminate a very sick persons life with their consent. Or at least there was a petition to be able to. This would be a way to send them.off with a bang.
I'm not who you think I am.

If it did become a reality, which country do you think will allow it to be used first?

Bringing this thread back on topic :P...

Apparently there are a few places in the world where you could snorkel with fully-grown blue whales. Tonga, the Dominican Republic, and according to one commenter, the island of Niue (which I never heard about till today).

Sounds like a bucket list experience to me.

Good thing both humpback and blue whales are baleen whales, so it seems safe enough. Unless you just get sucked in by accident.

Mrs. AJK has been bothering me about Tonga for as long as we've had our diving licenses. Hope she doesn't lurk 'round here.

We were only using snorkeling gear, no SCUBA tanks, so as not to be mistaken for a bubble net buffet. Humpback whales often use bubble netting for feeding. They will blow bubbles around a school of fish to confuse and trap them and then rise up through the column with their mouths agape catching as many fish as possible as they break the surface in a very impressive breach. That said, southern humpbacks do very little feeding while in the warmer waters - a mother may lose 25% of her body weight before returning to the Antarctic waters to feed again - but it's still best to err on safe side when working with these leviathans of the deep.

In BOB, we actually met one of the engineers who works on the engines for the main rocket which you saw in the video. He was on his honeymoon. Very nice and interesting guy.

FYI, Blue Origin is actually a company completely owned and funded by Jeff Bezos of Amazon fame. Not sure what it is, but these billionaires are all about the space exploration.
