"The U.S. Department of State has received your application for your passport book on 02/24/2020. We're now reviewing your application and supporting documents.
You requested routine service when you applied, which we are currently processing in 6-8 weeks."
We also received this message for my husband's passport, which has been in process since early March. We're presuming that he won't get it for another 6-8 weeks.
So, our [minor] daughter's passport is due to expire Dec 30 2020, which pushes the 6-month passport validity rule, if we are somehow able to travel to Israel this summer. Customs & Borders says that expedite services are suspended. I've read that the 6-month requirement has some room for exception, both on the US and Israel ends. Does anyone have any advice on whether we should risk it and send her passport out for the renewal? Or should we risk a possible trip plan (should the Israel border open up to non-citizens) by not renewing now?
