What's the best way to get a same day passport in NYC area? NY passport office? Stamford, CT? Anything else? Need for a bunch of kids.

I applied for my kids in Toms River PO on 7/8, and they told me it's sent to philly. I received the passports less than 3 weeks later. Based on that, it's likely to be processed very quickly.
Did you request expedited? According to the website they only send expedited passports to Philadelphia, and regular to New Hampshire.

For mail-in services, you can select routine service (receive your passport in 10-12 weeks) or expedited service (receive your passport in 4-6 weeks). Expedited service costs an additional $60 per application.
I did my kids in the Post Office 2 weeks ago and mine via mail last week. All checks were cashed a week after being sent, so I am hoping that means they are processed. Will advise once I get them...
