I'm guessing this has something to do with the new merger announcements,.
The links you provide on the top of this thread don't work anymore. Is there anything better then the standard offer posted on their website, 30,000 + 10,000 for $10,000 balance transfer with annual fee?

should i care that it does nit mention the promp offer of 35k?

I got the same email after applying for the 35k, I think it's because its a standard email for all the credit cards, so its doesn't get into specifics, as it varies on the link you click. I wouldn't worry about it.

When he says "use the card" does he mean just the first purchase to get the bonus, or after some real use and then stop using for a few months?

I'm the one who added that data point to the wiki and my experience was that I made a few purchases on the card in the first month. Then I let the card sit for a couple months.
