Does DDF need a politics board?

Problem is that political threads are often name calling, eye rolling, one-liners like "You would say that", or "Every frum  yid agrees that...", without presentation of ideas, perspectives, evidence.  So in that sense the political threads are a kind of fake discussion, not that different from the other joke threads in JS, and might as well remain there.

But maybe there's a place for a more reasoned exchange of ideas, on topics that include politics, frum society, education, science, and the like. 

In fact, maybe this should be more than a new board, but a whole new website, which would make it easier to read without those bothersome posts about points, miles and deals.  This could be a new business for Dan, and require a slew of new credit cards.

Yes. The way it's setup now is, everything is under the category "DansDeals Forum", that's why on the main page it can be minimized individually.

I personally find this annoying. Could be confusing if you minimize it and can’t figure out where everything disappeared to.

The problem is not that "politics is too good for JS" it's that "politics is too bad for JS" because it's not "to kick back and talk about anything worthless." it's too stressful for that. That is not to say that I don't read the politics threads but sometimes I come to JS to chill, and these politics threads are just there in the way.

That is not to say that I don't read the politics threads but sometimes I come to JS to chill, and these politics threads are just there in the way.

Oh, I see what you're saying.  Politics doesn't even appear in the Master Thread of JS.  Maybe politics deserves a separate Mistress Thread on JS?

Which that confusion I believe would be mostly gone, if the category structure was set up properly.

For example: If there was 3-4 categories set up, minimizing one you'd clearly understand what happened, being that rest would still be open. It's about UX.

To get three you can do 1. Travel 2. Deals / Goods 3. Other
