if your ticket is not noted change the BD then call back for the bassinet

Seen a couple of different answers to this question so wanted to see if I could get one clear answer. Booked an award ticket using Avios on AA domestic flight (PHL-MIA). Didn't make any mention of my daughter when I booked because she wasn't born yet. How do I go ahead and add her to the reservation and what will the cost be? She will be under 2 and I don't need a seat for her. Will just hold her on my lap.

They will take care of you at the airport when you check in. Free.
If you want, you can call AA now and they may note it.

on the first page of this thread someone noted that lufthansa often do charge 10%, the wiki says they do not.
has this now been verified one way or another?

I booked through them a couple weeks ago and didn't pay 10%

just called singapore to book EWR-MBJ on a UA flight on miles with an infant and they told me it could not be booked and i would just have to book a "commercial ticket" with united myself. i dont know if that means i can then add just call united and add an infant or if i would have to actually book a new ticket for the baby?

Just double checking : if I want to book an infant reward through a specific airline, I also need to book the adult with them, correct? In other words I can't get a ticket for myself on a UA flight through UA and then book the infant through AC.

On the off chance that anyone has any experience with this..

I'm assuming that all travel as a lap infant must be completed before turning 2, meaning I can't book a flight on Dec 31 that lands Jan 1 when the child's birthday is Jan 1. What if I book it for Dec 30, with all travel to be completed by Dec 31, and there's a delay causing the trip to extend onto the 1st, when the child will be 2? I realize this is a long shot but I'm looking to do exactly this, so if there's a potential issue I'll give myself more space. It's hopefully going to be an LH F award booked with MM.

do you have any link where it says that you have to land in your final destination before the infant turns 2?

If infant is ticketed and flight is delayed/cancelled, I'd think they'd have to rebook the infant however they legally can. If the infant turns 2, that means they'd need to give him a seat. That's my guess.

I would guess that as well, but what if the cabin is full? And worst case, if they tell me I need to book a new seat for her.

Why not just book him/her a seat? Why do you need to change the age in order to do that?
