did he win?
Schnall won with a wide margin, more than 9,000 votes more than Thomson. 26,310 for Schnall and 17,562 for Thomson.

Was wondering if anyone has any insight on who to vote for for Senate in the Republican primary.

Don't think anyone has a chance against Andy Kim, but a primary vote does make a statement. I know nothing about any of the candidates, but someone wrote a letter to the voice this week saying that the Ocean County party line candidate (Bashaw) is not good, and Harshaw or Serrano-Glassner are better. Trump endorsed a candidate also. Is the best message to send that Trump has influence? Or not? Or is there a certain candidate who is good?

Serrano Glassner is the maga pick and bashaw is the establishment pick.

I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.

Gaza was the main issue in this race. The pro-Israel incumbent won with 81 percent of the vote.

NJ Politics is full of intrigue!

"Just what Menendez’s motives are for running again are unclear but it could give him time to raise money for his mounting legal bills, or perhaps — and remember this is New Jersey, where no wild conspiracy theory should be automatically discounted — he might be angling for a pardon from a newly reelected Trump next year.

He could win Trump’s favor by forcing the national Democrats to divert money to protect New Jersey, a seat that was supposed to be safe. Or, if Menendez’s entry helps Bashaw pull off an upset. Besides, Trump has generally been sympathetic to Menendez’s troubles in the past, as Politico New Jersey recounted earlier this year."

Paywall is preventing me from reading the article, but one possible motive is his hope (belief?) that he will be acquitted and thinks that will allow him to make a comeback.

He may have cut a deal with some of the jurors....

I don't know if anyone is following, but there has been a very controversial bill to overhaul OPRA. If I understand it correctly, if someone wants to get a public record in NJ and is denied by a government agency, they are entitled to legal fees if they sue and win. The new law takes away that liability, so that basically any government agency has no reason not to deny you the records.

It was opposed by all the journalists who use OPRAs all the time.

Governor Murphy just signed the bill into law. He put out a huge statement explaining his reasoning.
