Travel to Canada by Auto - PCR/Testing Question

Hi - for travel to Canada -

I'm concerned that there may have been an asymptomatic positive in my house a few weeks ago, as we got a positive antigen test, and without a positive test then, if I test go travel to Canada, I will 1) not be allowed to enter and 2) as it's the first test that shows a positive result (why test if no symptoms?), is it then automatically told to the Dept of Health and will all applicable restrictions/quarantines have to be done now, even though it's much more likely a residual positive from a bit ago.

TL;DR version
Got antigen test that was positive on a kid. Worried about taking tests now as PCR may come back positive, and we don't have any original positive test to show there's no current infection. In this situation, with no previous positive and a potential positive just due to viral shed, does full quarantine apply (does health dept treat as current first time positive?).

Any advice? Anyone been through the same?

I'm not sure I understand your first question-  are you basically asking what Canada will do if you show up at the border with a positive test from a day earlier? You don't want to do that.

Correct, don't want to do that. Question is with no previous positive because i don't run to test a 6 year old every time he or she coughs, what should I do if I'm concerned a test may come back positive since an antigen came back positive.

If you want to enter Canada you're gonna have to test. There are no exemptions for people who think they might test positive

If you're looking to get a pcr negative try going to a private person that'll let you take the test yourself...

Sad how 18+ months into the pandemic the OP and so many others have all the terminology down pat but very little understanding about the what’s and whys of testing.

Just get a free PCR test and find out if you even have any reason for concern in the first place.

No reason for concern at all, we're vaccinated and I'd rather my kids get the virus than the vaccine. Very sad how you assume people don't know the what's and whys of testing. Nobody is at risk, we're just doing a dog and pony show for the border 'risks'. If you read what I wrote, if we all had exposure to the virus about a month or so ago, we're probably the safest people to be traveling. Let me know if you need a stool for help to get down off that pedestal.

The only concern I was referring to was when I used the word concern in the context you were asking, getting into Canada. It’s clear you aren’t concerned about anything else.

And yes, it’s also clear that you’re not actually understanding things or you’d understand my response, instead it became a totem pole where you had things figured out and I was somehow on a pedestal.

And for the record, potential exposure (based on a rapid that can very well be a false positive) in no way protects you and makes you the safest to be traveling, not by any objective measure other than your own imagination.

Around here they're saying that the biggest provider of PCR tests is Adobe labs......

Yes was wondering how strict the border was and if they call the lab etc or ever check on the actual PCR, don't want to mess around with it but seems like they're pretty lax.
