I never had fever, but had night sweats, but overall, no biggie. Flu was worse, but also no big deal BH.
When?

When?
2 week ago for flu, and last week for Covid (not confirmed, didn't want to wait in line 3 hours to test, but my wife tested positive).

Or flu too?

Nope. Tested negative for flu and positive for COVID (though I'm not ruling out the possibility that the tests were wrong)

I read that it's less common with omicron
Workflowy. You won't know what you're missing until you try it.

Maybe you have Delta?
Maybe i have Xi... maybe they are all Xi
maybe I'm just congested is more like it (hoping)
The other symptoms i have mimic Omicron not Delta - congestion, sore throat, fatigue
Vastly different then the first two times

A few notes:

Todays NYTs daily email suggests that its pretty conclusive that Omicron is different.
Different does mean less severe, but still at risk of overwhelming hospitals in sheer numbers due to increased transmission.
Specifically, many hospital admissions for beds (many discharged after 1-3 days, non-ICU/ventilated, which in a sense requires more beds/staffing/resources than ICU
CDC retracted its 73% estimate on Omicron prevalence nationally. And while prevalence in some parts of the US (NYC-area/FL and elsewhere is 90%+), in some cases Delta is still very significant. One reason for this might be that higher vaccination rate in some areas leads to less Delta breakthrough, making Omicron king even among the vaccinated that manage to avoid Delta. The same doesnt hold true in areas with less vaccination.
With lower Delta prevalence in some areas, people in those areas are risking Delta infection, not just Omicron infection by avoiding precautions (including choosing not to vaccinate).
Additionally, in areas with lower Omicron prevalence, doctors struggle to triage whether any given patient has Delta or Omicron, as treatments and optimal protocols differ between those two variants

Congestion could cause loss of taste and/or smell, even pre-COVID e.g. with the flu, albeit less common.

I think night sweats are also a unique characteristic of the new variant
As usual DDF is on the cutting edge

BRF is an issue with data interpretation. Finally might imply the author sees this as relative progress, which in a sense it might be.

Not sure I understand. If 99.99% are vaccinated, we should still expect there to be more cases of unvaccinated compared to vaccinated?  :)

No but there should be a big difference in rates adjusted by the relevant population group

If 80% are vaccinated and 20% not, 80% in hospital are vaccinated and 20% not what does it say?

This is based on the data of the tweet above
