Not to raise salaries across the board in a way that would create a massive burden for the system. Speak to yeshiva fundraisers who felt pressured to raise rebbeim salaries in 2021 and now are struggling every month to raise the extra 10-15 percent.

And there have been layoffs in nearly every single industry. Yeshivas can’t layoff rebbeim and can’t stop paying the kollel if money is tighter.

I’m not saying they are different and of course they deserve to be well paid but a yeshiva that generally has a hard time making it through the year but then has a couple amazing years due to literally free money shouldn’t then go increase their budget by 15 percent (or in bmg case 200 percent) for years to come.

Like R’ Yosef Heinmann said at the meeting, he received a call b4 Pesach from a בעל הבית, who said that he should just know, the whole world has they’re eyes on BMG & if BMG backs out of the upped kollel check, they’ll also do so.
Was saying that the salary for all kollelim is based on BMG’s and they feel the achrayis to keep up giving out the checks.
Btw, I don’t the kollel check hasn’t changed b4 the Adirei HaTorah events, since R’ Aaron was alive!

it did but by a miniscule amount that was not proportionate to inflation. ultimately bmg needed to drastically raise the check or they would have started to lose people much quicker because when expenses go up across the board as much as they did, the extra money you get for being in a kollel out of bmg makes a huge difference. and plenty would have been forced to go to work earlier as well. they also created aneed for all the kollelim out of bmg to raise their checks as well so aside from bmg every kollel had their budget shoot up as well.........

inaccurate. it was doubled at one point many years ago well after R' Aharon from $40 a week to $80 a week, and a few years before Adirei they started with small incremental increases.

The ones involved are working on other options such as having wraps, cake etc.
No final decisions yet.

The food last year made airplane meals look gourmet... I don't understand why they feel the need to serve everyone food. It should be limited to yungerleit and to big donors. The pushing and shoving to get food was an embarrassment and then they ran out after a few minutes.

I wasn't there 2 years ago... I hope it wasn't worse than last year... Bottom line: Its not sustainable to feed 25k people and there's no reason for it.

This is correct. I was under the impression it was longer - I possibly heard about it during those 10 days, people were struggling.

Ive heard the carpet in the stadium was ruined last year, and they had to pay 250k to replace it.
