@Alexsei when you add image to post, is the default setting for you with an expiration?
If yes, switch to "no expiration".

With digital ocean you get 250gb S3 compatible storage and 1TB transfer for $5/mo I assume that's more than enough.
AWS would probably be cheaper but the pricing isn't clear cut
You'd need to code your own compression and plugin unless SMF has one already.

I've been saying this for years....

Any picture that is not hosted by DDF directly will eventually stop working. How many TRs are there here with dead pictures? Way too many.

I literally pay $100/yr for Flickr Pro just to keep my TRs alive.
