I'm sure AI will get better and change many things, but is it really going to change everything?

If my toilet breaks, my kid gets sick and needs a doctor, my car needs an oil change, I'm hungry and I want a Mendel's sandwich , my lawn needs to be mowed, my kids need a teacher at school, other kids needs therapists, my wife wants her nails done, etc

Perhaps how we schedule or order some of these will change, but will AI really disrupt the above? I doubt it.

Fact checking industries exist today, but the left and right don't trust each other to determine what's fact and what's fiction.

With AI video, this will only get worse, by orders of magnitude.

As for the second part I do believe once connected to a robot it will be able to do all those mentioned plus more. I'd be surprised if there will be anything it won't be able to do. There obviously will be trust issues at first. But I do think it'll be possible.

I think the resources issue is the only question that was left unanswered. Maybe the energy but I don't think that is such a big question.

I still get this nagging feeling that people in the future will simply want less. Thereby we won't get to the point of running out of resources.

It'll reach a point where everyone is healthy via bioengineering. The materialistic people will be on drugs all day to keep them in a 24/7 high (not necessarily drugs but the equivalent). The spiritual people won't. That will leave the population that aren't materialistic left over. Then there won't be a resource draining population.

To your second point- Of course robotics/drones have the potential to really change things. Self-driving that can be trusted will change a lot more than just buses, taxis, and the trucking industry. But I do believe humans will still need humans for many things. Childcare, teaching and mental health are some examples.
