@AsherO

I would like a list of potential pitfalls. This is not the Shulchan Aruch here, but to raise awareness, so people will know to look into it, or ask their rabbi.

I don't see how this is such a hard Psak.

There are different ways of understanding Sefiras HaOmer and therefore there are different Minhagim that come out of these different understandings.

1) The Talmidim died until 33 or 34. That being so, one must wait to get a haircut/shave until Lag BaOmer by day or (Sefardim) 34 by day.

2) The Talmidim died 33 days, from Pesach until Shavuos. That being so, one must keep 33 days of Aveilus and one can be Miktzas HaYom KiKulo. Some therefore keep from Pesach til Lag BaOmer and some keep from Rosh Chodesh til Shavuos (but one can't burn the candle at both ends - R"CH til Lag B"O).

According to R' YYF, if one is getting a haircut/shave on Erev Shabbos, he has already used his MH"K up and therefore when Lag B"O comes he must wait until the day ends to get his full 33 days. It's not the biggest Chiddush and very understandable.
May one get married on Friday? No. Because pashtus MHĒK isnít a factor here, itís a heter specific for כבוד שבת.

Additionally, its something not mentioned by all the achronim, youíd think weíd hear about it, after all the Remah goes second half, and heís the one introducing the heter.

Ok. Does it mean that you still were in Aveilus the whole friday? I'm not following you.

Back then no one shaved. If you got a haircut on Erev Shabbos you wouldn't get another one on Sunday.
Its only nowadays where one can be a religious Jew and still shave every day does the Shaila come up.

Yes in a way. You were not allowed to dance and listen to music.

If you used up the miktzas hayom you shouldn't be able to do anything different on Sunday. Haircuts aren't the only aspect of the Aveilus.

Additionally, the achronim talk about other cases where one has a heter to take a haircut. A baal bris for example. Does anyone say he doesn't get heterim for Lag because he used up a day? I don't believe so.

Source? See the Darkei Moshe (Rema) below clearly otherwise!

Additionally many say you are allowed on Lag BíOmer at night without using miktzas hayom. In fact most of klal yisroel is meikel as they go to bonfires with music and dancing.

Thatís because they are using miktzas ďhayomĒ from the night, iirc

Some say that but others say that since we donít say tachnun already by the mincha before, itís because the simcha of the day already starts at night. Just like any yom tov which starts at night we donít say tachnun mincha before.

Who are you quoting? And why does that mean mikzas hayom isnít being utilized.

For those that wash for טיבולו במשקה:
An ice cream cone may require נט״י as the cone gets wet from the melting ice cream.

R Moshe says you should not wash.
I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.

1) on what, ice cream? Or in general?
2) where does he say this?
3) why?

On the topic of Reb moshe Iíll share from r simcha bunim cohen shabbos set (muktzah) that there are those who say you canít move a lamp lítzorech gufo or mekomo, however he writes he himself saw Reb moshe move a lamp on shabbos lítzorech gufo. (And that r shlomo zalman also holds this way)
Sharing this bc I once heard a clip from someone (idk if heís a rav or stam someone who learns halacha) saying itís not well known that you canít move a light on shabbos and you can only use the shabbos lamps that swivel etc. He even said those shabbos innovation lamps that are mini size and therefore are lighter, should avoid using it or be very careful that youíre not moving it when opening and closing.
nothings impossible- the word itself says Im possible

This was written by Rav Shlomo Miller in his haskama to the shabbos lamp.
