Outgoing calls when my phone is off?

The second time (that I know of) this has happened over the last month - a business associate got a missed call from me Shabbos afternoon! My phone was off, and nothing showing in my call log...

Any ideas what might be behind this, and/or what to do?

Somebody is spoofing your number, probably trying to scam them.

I'm going to try calling my provider, but what concerns me most is that they're not just spoofing my number - they're calling people in my contacts list.

Don't know if this is relevant, my phone is a Qin F30 from koshercell...is there a risk my phone was hacked?

I don't understand what you are trying to say. That he should sign up for this? That the "hacker" is using this? They let you sign up to use anyone else's number without verification?

The fact that they are calling your associates, from your number, on Shabbos, when they know you won't be using your phone, sounds like the one who is behind this may know who you are??

They called someone that you have in your contact list? Or someone you actually do business with?

All good questions. It does point to some sorta scammer that did his homework, whether they know him or not.

Yes.
Which translates to the caller 'knowing' who he is. Personally or not.

Perhaps try recording a message for your voicemail stating something along these lines; There is an unauthorized person using my phone number, often it is on Saturdays, do not give any info etc...

Often, when people get a strange call (especially if they know the caller) they'll likely call the number back. Now, even if you can't be reached (i.e. it's Shabbos), they'll hear this message.

Both times it was someone in my contact list who I have semi-regular contact with.

Sounds like this, plus someone phished your contacts list somehow.
Change your email password for starters.

Perhaps he traced the calls made to and from your number, and followed call patterns? Then proceeded to look into those numbers that matched a certain pattern etc. And called those?

I'm not sure how they would get to it. But I'm almost positive every call and text can be traced by your service provider. (Provided it was actually made by your phone number/SIM card, if it were to be just someone pretending to be calling from your number, like in this case, where your number isn't actually being used, just somehow played around with on the caller ID)

(I'm not familiar with this; but I'm pretty sure that it's fairly simple to be able to call using a false number)

My friend used to get several calls a day with the caller ID of his home phone, but when he answered the line went dead.
