United MileagePlus Explorer Guide to Benefits

Matching is not guaranteed anymore YMMV

Personal Card
Public offer in the Bank is 50K+5K                            Sign up for the 30+5K offer. You can get matched to the higher offer by sending a secure message after you are approved to be matched to the 55K + $50 offer that you say your colleague received.

If its your:
First time: After you sign for the 30k + 5k for adding an AU offer, you can SM Chase to match you to the 55k + $50 offer.
2nd+: Sign up with a new Frequent Flyer # (FFN), and SM AFTER receiving the first 30k. Make sure to create the new FFN with United BEFORE submitting the Application to Chase, or they'll default to your previous number, even if you leave the field blank.

Make sure to add an AU to receive the final 5k, for a total of 55k +$50.

Business Card
On the business card, you can get matched to 50k.
Follow the same process as the personal card.
Note: There is no 5k bonus for adding an AU to the biz card, so when you SM, make sure to ask to be matched to the 50k offer, not a 55k offer which doesn't exist for this card.

It could take up to a week to get a response from the Secure Message Center

Here is a link within your United account, which some DDFers have reported to received a 50k offer for the Explorer card, and the annual fee waived for the Club Card.

If u have a UMPE card and NO status, then you can do upgrades from a coach pts booking to bus/1st pts booking for just incremental pt + taxes, no fees. If you don't have the card they said they'd charge the all-dreaded rebooking fee of $100/person (always the chance to get it waived).

I've had the United card for 6 months now (signed up with the 50K link). Over the weekend I heard that at one point there had been a promo to get an extra 5K if you add an additional cardholder. I SMed asking to match if I were to add a cardholder, and they gave me the 5K without me even adding someone!

My SM: A friend of mine who has this same credit card told me that he received 5000 bonus miles for adding his wife as an additional cardholder to his account. Can I please add an additional cardholder and be eligible for the same promotion? Thank you.

Chase's response: Thank you for your recent inquiry on your United MileagePlus Explorer credit card account.

As you requested, we have added 5000 enrollment miles to your account. You will see the adjustments on your next billing statement.

If you have any further questions, please reply using the Secure Message Center.

Again, this was 6 months after I got the card.

You got lucky with a dumb rep. Normally they won't do it past 90 days.

Either that, or this is a match everyone can try for. There's only one way to find out. Btw, she had a very American name (Debra Anderson).

Signup bonuses are usually only given for new cards, not for upgrades

I called to add an AU and the rep said I don't need the physical card for the AU sent to my address if I didn't want it, so I said ok to that.

I can't find any evidence of the AU on my Chase.com account though, is that normal or am I looking in the wrong place?

I applied/churned for the UMpE card using the DDF link for 25k, once approved I sent an SM requesting a match to the 65 k offer and was granted the extra 25k. Now, when statement closed I only got the matched 25k but not the original 25+5k for the offer, it seems that chase somehow (i left it balnk) applied my previous FF# and it was therefore not a first time cardmember. I sent an SM requesting the additional points, but doubt it would work.  Any other ideas anyone?

Keep the 25 they gave you, and now open a new UA account, then apply for a THIRD UA MPE card with your new FFN and you'll get ANOTHER 50k miles....

I believe that he won't be able to get the base 25k points and should be happy for the luck gettind the match 25k, and if he really wants 50k miles he should do another UA mpe app with a new FFN #....
Got it?

Call and tell them only one set posted. If you try a few times you could get a rep who will push it through. Can't hurt to try.

Anyone been matched to the 55K plus $50 since 5/15?

I'm want to make sure it's still live before pulling trigger.

I got it today, although this was the sm I received:

Quote from: Chase SM
Thank you for your inquiry. We would be happy to match the
enrollment bonus. I have added 20,000 enrollment miles
that when added to the 25,000 first use miles and 5,000
miles for adding an authorized user will bring you to the
55,000 richer enrollment premium. I have also issued the
$50.00 statement credit that you will see on your next
billing statement.

I sent another one asking what about the remainding 5k, but I haven't received a response yet.
