DDF DO Planning Thread

Seven Mile Market - supposedly the largest kosher supermarket in the country.

Market Maven (formerly Seasons) - great prices for meat and chicken, also good place for shabbos food

Hotels:
Only 1 Close and decent hotel to Jewish area (but not quite walking distance) is this Hilton Doubletree

Airbnb in the frum community:
Eruv Inn
Edelweiss - Located about 15 minutes from the frum community, practically next door to Ateres Elka wedding hall

Otherwise, there are a number of nice hotels downtown (which is also the inner harbor area) and near BWI airport. There are no shuls in the downtown area with regular minyanim, aside from Mincha minyanim in various offices.

Restaurants in the Jewish area (in no particular order):

Dairy

Dunkin Donuts - 2 kosher locations
Here and Here

Croustille Cafe French Bakery - French bakery with many delicious dairy and pareve bakery items.

Milk & Honey Bistro - dairy homestyle cooking

Goldberg's Bagels - very good bagels and free wifi.

Mama Leah's - pizza that is a bit different, but IMHO (Lunatic), the best pizza in Baltimore

Tov Pizza - classic pizza shop - Mocha thinks this is a hell of a lot better than ^

Caramel's - pizza shop, also has sushi

Cocoaccinos/Pie 18 - cafe with sandwiches and salads, as well as custom made brick oven pizza

Playa Bowls Quarry Lake - "the original Acai bowl" - lots of great pareve options as well, delicious bowls

Pareve

Sushi Sakura
Cinnaholic Owings Mills - This location only was recently certified kosher pareve (across from the area Costco).

Meat

David Chu's - Reasonably priced great Chinese food and good sushi. Dan's rating - 7.25/10
Address: 7105 Reisterstown Road, Baltimore, MD 21215
Phone:(410) 602-5008

Phone:(410) 484-5850

The Club Deli & Grill - Newly opened (2023) fleishig meat/sandwich restaurant

Went to Baltimore for a quick memorial day overnight getaway.

Decided to stay in the Hyatt regency baltimore inner harbor since they have an outdoor pool. (unfortunately we only got in about 3 hours of swimming due to rain).

As a globalist I was automatically upgraded to their premier harbor view king suite (above the standard suite) I think it helps that I frequent this hotel a bunch

It had 2 full bathrooms and a pullout couch which was perfect for us!

Here's another way that Hyatt screws themselves over. The room was only $149 plus tax in that case I prefer to use cash over 15k Hyatt points as i like to get at least 1.4 value out of them but globalists only get free parking on award stays only. (why, I dont know) so I opted to use 15k points and get free parking

Got the kids Tov Pizza for Lunch by the pool and they liked it (dont have pics)

For Dinner we went to Serengeti

They do not have high chairs and refuse to allow a borrowed high chair from their sister restaurant Accents in the same shopping center. They gave us an option to BYOB (bring your own booster)

We just kept the baby in the stroller (surprised they let us do that)

We got the kids vegetable Sushi rolls- $5.75 each they were good

My wife tried the Heatwave roll and said it was good- $11.95

My wife and I were starving as we opted to skip lunch and ordered a lot (we shared with the kids too)

Lamb Arancini- $15 came with 3 very good

Smoked Brisket smothered fries- $22 excellent, maybe the highlight

Fried green tomatoes ( we wanted to try something different)- $12 were good

Virgin Pina coloda-My wife is still raving about this- $7.50

Sangria-$7.50

CHILI RUBBED TOURNADO WITH PEPPERCORN SAUCE- 16 OZ -$49 very good and juicy very easy to eat

GRILLED HONEY CHIPOTLE MARINATED RIB EYE STEAK-16 OZ -$39 very good and a little chewy

Side of broccolini- $8 kids really liked

Bourboun sweet potatoes-$6.50 no one touched them (not because they looked bad)

Mushroom Risotto-$6.50 excellent

CARAMEL APPLE PIE MASON JAR — $12- wife said it was good

Kids got ice cream  with a cookie which was inedible (the cookie) we got 2 and they only charged me $2 I know they said one was free for my birthday (I think it should be $9 so maybe they gave me an extra scoop for $2 and the dessert free)

The next day we had accents for lunch and took david chus for dinner for when we got back. I dont think I have pics of those but I will try to dig them up.

Also brought back Dunkin Donuts (only ones I can eat as I hold of CY but milk powder is OK and their drinks are all CY in the 2 kosher ones)

I love Baltimore and always run at a chance I have to go back!

Going down to Bmore for the weekend. Looking for a good biking trail. 5-20 miles each way. Prefer a park like path (not a street unless dedicated lanes) and some shade. Not to much elevation (~5% grade). Any recommendations? TIA

Thank you.
Let me clarify-
I have a bike that I will be bringing along. No need for me to rent one. Are there any paths or roads that are very road-bike friendly? IE here (NYC/LI) we have several long boardwalks, Rt 9, Central Park, etc. West side Greenway, Jamaica Bay Loop, Beth Page Bike Path, etc These places are know in the local biking world as great places to knock out anything between 10-75 miles, with plenty of passerby bikers, nourishment stops, smooth pavement, not too many lights, etc. during most daylight time of any day.

There's a nice bike path there as well.

The BWI trail is nice but only 10 mile loop

Both of those are much quieter than any in New York. Mostly through woods etc.

BWI trail combined with the B&A trail seems perfect. I'm assuming that both are safe to ride alone (during the day), right?

+1, very easy ride I think there are some slight up hill and some "road crossings" but the trail is a dedicated path. Safe area. Also its really cool if you a AV geek since you at certain points on the trail you do see planes landing.
Another point if you are an AV geek and you want to take break ( there is a place to lock you bike close to International Arrivals, near the light rail stop) while your riding there is a observation gallery in the terminal before security where you watch planes take and land. They have also some exhibits of planes  etc....
