Based on what? Their other charts are R/T (albeit they state R/T explicitly).
Based on several factors:
1. Simple reading seems to indicate its one way and it doesn't specify.
2. It's impossibly cheap. Some FC tickets on Alaskan EWR->LIH are $1900 Each!
3. Pricing would be really inconsistent with the other charts that list flights to or from europe.

Anyone want to call?  :)

To book an Award seat on Alaska Airline flights members need to contact Icelandair Call Center at 1-800-223-5500 prompt 2.

They are open 8am-8pm

I'd imagine he's confirmed it RT (as it says in the post), and the fact that it says OW in the comments was a typo.

Though "Airport taxes and fuel charge are added to all Award tickets.  Service charge on all Alaska flight Awards is ISK 3.000."
Yes confirmed it with an agent even though they make it seem like the agents are unsure.

Also he says fuel surcharge is $40

They are not United agents so I think they have some credibility.  ;D

OK people. I just got off the phone with an Icelandair rep. It took awhile but she finally confirmed that tickets are RT and available for all flights within all the fifty states.

However she said this is a new product and that she knows a website in the US posted the deal and that she is waiting for instructions.

She told me it would take ten days for the points to post but I purchased them and it posted instantly.  ;D

I'm just trying to decide if I should buy another 60,000.

If you are on the sidelines I'd say go for it. I don't see how they can change the terms after multiple confirmations without at least having to refund us.

Alaska Airlines does not have any direct flights as far as I know. You will need to stop over

I think the question was whether the award was allowed from NYC with a stop on the west coast before arriving in Hawaii.

According to the rep, yes.

I am on the phone with them now though and the rep can't see all available alaska air flights on her site. She is checking it out..

Just got off the phone. The rep could not find a single available Alaskan air flight from anywhere I asked her to check. It seems like they may have pulled all available flights.  :'(

I asked her what kind of award program has zero award flights and she said "I don't know, E-mail our Saga program department."

oh man oh man

I called and two agents told me I can't use my points because there is a 10 day hold on them

Called again and spoke with a rep for 45 minutes and she could not find availability. I left my number and she said she will search and call me back..crossing my fingers on this one as they are non refundable.

I guess that's a 'legal' way they can change the program in a hurry

I guess we could always dispute the purchase. According to the online travel review commenters the flights need to be super saver awards- but there are plenty of those so I don't see why they cant find any availability!

An Icelandair rep posted on Online Travel Review site!  :P

Icelandair Saga Club August 17, 2012 at 10:36 am
Hello everyone,
Thank you for your interest in our Program but due to heavy load on our Call Center we just wanted to clear a few things:
1) Availability on Alaska Airlines is limited and seats for Hawaii for the coming monts are not available in our systems (agent checked just over a minute ago).
2) Availability is controlled only by Alaska Airlines and not by Icelandair.
3) Registration in the Saga Club is under Construction and can therefore take a longer time again also due to heavy load on our Call Center.
5) Miles expire in the end of the fourth year from they were earned.
We hope that answers some of your questions,
With best regards,
The Icelandair Saga Club,

Is it just me or are these not contradictory?

It looks like this caught them with their pants down. When speaking with them, the agents had a hard time discussing anything related to booking with Alaska. They kept on repeating that they can only book a particular code and that there is no availability.

Did you buy the point too Dan?

Nobody is finding any seats (even though they show on AS' website) but they are claiming that it's based on AS availability.
