Barclay reconsideration line: 866-408-4064, Mon-Fri 8AM - 5PM EST.
The 24-hour number is 866-408-4064
New 24 hour number is 866-205-5973
you can finally fax documents to Barclays the number is 866-836-6959

Based on the phone reps, an application usually remains in the system for 90 days, during which you can ask for a reconsideration.
However, if 30 days have passed, it will incur another hard pull.

There have been a few reports of Barclay pulling credit again when reconsidering - even when specifically asked not to.
Make sure to explicitly tell the rep that you don't want another credit pull. The benefit of such action would be that if later you see they did pull your credit you can call up and speak to a manager and have the pulls removed (based on first-hand accounts from this thread).

If you want to guarantee that you don't get another pull, freeze your credit report.

While Barclay recon reps are usually very tough to deal with, there have been sporadic reports of them reconsidering by reallocating credit-line from other cards. Additionally, there are a few reports indicating success with the 3BM.
Personal and biz didn't combine

Barclay recon reps take notes of each phone call and subsequent reps usually regurgitate the previous rep's reply.

Barclays has a 6/24 rule similar to chase 5/24. Not hardcoded like chase though.

I got denied for the 50k initially, I called recon and the guy was super nice and said you have excellent credit and we value you as a customer, blah blah blah. He transferred some CL from my arrival card and zeh hu, approved no problems.
He did ask me about a high balance on a chase card- so i guess they got s/t out for Chase clients :)

Last account opened 10/14
last barclays opened 05/14

HUCA on a denied app with them usually results in -
90% new credit pull
10% approval.
Just curious  where is the source to what you are saying?

Too many new accounts (9.)

No point HUCAing with Barclays recon, right?
My how the tides have turned: 1 call this morning to the regular number and he offered to give me 5K of CL, lower my LH card from 12K to 7K and then put 5K on each the US card and Arrival+. Wow. 6 approvals from yesterday.

Closed my USAirways last Monday, reapplied today and was declined. Called recon and they said she couldn't open the USAirways card again because it was so recently closed.  :-\

Glad that worked out for you. The problem for me is that my wife doesn't have any cards with Barclays to shift CL.

Any ideas what to say when the recon rep offers to reopen the old US Airways card you closed a month ago instead of trying to get a new one open?

I'd be very surprised if there's an answer to that.

Ach, she said she'd check (I was thinking that she'd double check with me before actually doing it), and then she just went and reopened it. That didn't work out as planned.

Same here. I guess I could complain, but there's nothing to gain.

I did a 3bm (I know, not recommended) for US, M&M, Arrival. (M&M instant approve / Arrival approved after recon, M&M was 10K CL had them shift 5K to Arrival)
Had previous US downgraded to Rewards 2 weeks ago.
Now they won't approve my US 50K app because too many cards and some delinquent accts. on report..
They won't shift CL or close other acct..
Gotta keep trying!

Any good reason to give them why a second USAir is needed if I dont get insta approval? Also - in regards to the Mileage account. What do I do? Do I input my current number when I have the miles from my first account or leave it blank and once I get them into an account shift them over? Does it matter?

Also when applying for my wife, do I rather wait til she is home so that she can call in case its pending or she gets denied or can I make phone calls on her behalf?
