ok folks here is another trick I've seen months ago:

"There is a post here on SQTalk about SQ and how and when they clear waitlist. It says something about one SQTalker who went to the ticketing office at the airport to check on his waitlist status, and this triggered (??) the confirmation of the seat...
Well, after reading this, I went yesterday to the SQ Centre in Ion Orchard. My Suite redemption was on waitlist since 1 week for a flight this coming Friday, 4 April.
It lasted 3 minutes, I told the lady I love SQ, I love SQ Girls and that I would love to fly Suite on Friday She said she would write a note in the file about my request.
This morning, SMS received, Suite confirmed
Not sure if it's possible to draw a conclusion out of it but for sure, next time I'm on waitlist, I'll pay SQ a visit !"

Really stupid to draw conclusions from one guy. Doubt anyone at JFK has any power over inventory

The stupid SQ JFK agent sent me to the VS Lounge when it was closed for Xmas.
Though I did make out with a ncie bundle of miles for that.

my waitlist flight is in November and its been a month already ....cant wait till the last minute.

Also try calling SQ directly in SIN, then try to befriend them especially if its a women agent, add them on Facebook or email, then on Facebook or email start chatting up with them, offer them a tip if they succeed in clearing you, I did such a thing with a UA agent in the Philippines and it worked. but again Philippines is a semi 3rd world place where $20 goes a long way, so not sure how SQ agents are in SIN.

Extremely unlikely they'll clear your waitlist for a flight that far out.

It seems like the checkin agents are outsourced but the ticketing agent(s) on the left is direct.
