Got 2 emails at 10:18pm- 1 stating that I've been approved and the other that they need my home phone, business phone and home address to complete proccessing.

I can ignore the 2nd email if I've already been approved, right?

Ok, just spoke to Recon, the reason it wasn't instantly approved was because they wanted to make sure I was in fact the one applying... BUT I still need to wait 24-48 hours for the app to be processed
Rep said everything on application looks good, there shouldn't be any problems, and if there are, they will call me... Strange... never had this before, usually it's either approval or there is an issue. Here, there's no issue but still no approval yet...

I just converted DH's SPG card to this offer over chat. The rep said he wasn't eligible for the offer (probably because his account is less than one year old (the rep said he'd be eligible in May 2014)), but after asking nicely he made an "exception" and converted it on the spot.

Now to work on my card.

I'm concerned about a bait and switch goes through. If Amex intentionally is reopening this card up (since it's available by chat to some this may be the case), I can't imagine they'd let so many GC/VR to oblivion.

You read it wrong. Eligible purchases does not mean everyday purchases

Not at all. But if thousands of new applicants get the card and spend heavily at drug stores for 5%, Amex can reduce the rewards (like they did with the BCP when people abused it at groceries), shut people down, or both. I'd use this card cautiously for a little bit before spending 5 digits in a month on it @ 5%.

Is there 2 different Blue Cash Cards? Or if I got the rep to convert my SPG it's automatically going to be this one?

Blue Cash and Blue Cash Everyday. Make sure it is the Blue Cash. Ask them if it is 5% (G/G/D) after spending 6.5k. If you don't make sure you will be getting the wrong card.
