Maybe it's a codec issue. Which program did you use to play the DVD? Did you try VLC?

Maybe DVD drive is bad or needs cleaning? Or maybe the cable which carries the sound is loose (if they still have that)?

My keyboard shortcuts don't work. I can't seem to find where to turn them on.
I'm sure its a simple thing...

Which ones? In specific programs or Windows general shortcuts?

Strange, I've never heard of such a thing. Did you reboot? Make sure the keyboard is plugged in securely?

Wireless, USB?  Possibly a driver issue.  Go to device manager, uninstall the keyboard, then unplug the keyboard, and plug it back in.  It should reinstall automatically.

Yup. But does it make sense that everything else works?

That is possible, even with a driver problem.  Not the definite cause, but it is worth a try.

I have an Asus laptop with a C & D Drive. I am completely out of space on the default C drive and have attempted to move everyhing I can over to the D Drive.
There is a ton of room on the D Drive (~100gb) and less than 1gb on the C. Does anyone know how I can move space from 1 to the other?? really need help. TIA

What version of Windows?  Depending on how the partitions (assuming they are the same physical drive) you can use Windows Disk Manager.

Windows 7. I have tried but I can't figure it out. If someone could help I would even pay I am so desperate. I was told someone "taking over" my computer might take this easier.

I cannot login, the only internet access I have is via phone.  I can try to help over the forum...1) backup your D drive to an external hard drive.  2) delete the D partition (I'll give you step-by-step).  3) merge the free space to the c partition (I'll give you step-by-step.

Well, I can't help you physically. If you want, you can download TeamViewer and I could access your computer remotely and take a look.

There is also software (such as Partition Magic) that will do the merge without backing up and deleting the partition (a 'live merge'), but there is more that can go wrong doing it this way.

Maybe it's your ctrl key, did you try the ctrl key on the right? how about the on screen keyboard, does it work there?
