So I figured out how to bring more carry-ons. My bag was weighed with an 8 kilo limit and I still brought over 25 kilo on the plane. Does your uncle want to buy my trick? Otherwise I'll just post what I did. Its fairly simple, but I'm proud of it.

Have someone wait on the side with some extra weight?
(wouldn't work with for example, Ryanair, as they check the weight again by boarding)

lol yup. Its very simple.

Airlines only weigh 1 carry on, being the rolling bag which is generally the larger bag. Normally people will have an additional backpack of the sort which is never weighed being that it is small and called your personal bag.

All my trick does is capitalize on this fact. I bring a heavy duty suite bag filling it with many many more kilo of baggage that any airline could imagine :)

It is a larger bag than even the rolling carry-on often, yet all airlines AFAIK allow you to bring it on.

Great tip!

In the past I have worn my thick heavy coat onto the plane, and stuffed the large pockets with heavy items such as a desktop hard drive, shoes etc. It's another way to get away with a few kilos of undetectable weight.

Also, can't remember terminal or airline but once at JFK there was a guy checking everyone's carry-ons at the bottom of the escalator before security. I later accidentally discovered an elevator on the other side of the terminal witch takes u straight to security and avoids the strict guy weighing. So always look for another route!

What do you do if they ask to weigh it? I've had that they ask for all hand luggage to be placed on the scale.

Nice idea, but that would be too much for me.

I used to bring a couple in a backpack though I'm not sure if they would confiscate it if found.

Adding another tip for getting an overweight carry on in: I flew alitalia from TLV to Rome and they weighed my carry on (didn't want to check luggage) and it was too heavy. I said I couldn't check it bc I had my laptop and it would break. I requested them to allow me to check it at the gate, and I would be able to take the laptop out.
The gate agent didn't make me check it under the plane though, so I got to bring in on board.  8)
