I don't think it's an airline thing I think it's an agent thing, in which case it's not much of a problem just ask to go to the side to 'rearrange', and then just go to a different agent.
-1 IME. LOT was very strict leaving NY. Also El Al I've had issues.
which airlines weigh a carry-on bag? never had that.
In JFK, T1/T2 (maybe others as well), you need to carry the checked luggage from the checkin desk to the security screening (except F/J). You can then put in whatever you want....
I had a LOT agent weigh my hand luggage which was over weight. i told him that i would have s/o take the extras. he smiled and said i'll hold on to your boarding pass and passport while u give it to them. i would have put up some sorta fight had s/o not been waiting for me outside
Poilisher Chutzpa!
A relative of mine travels frequently with lots of stuff (re:valuables) that he can only take as carry-ons. How can he maximize the amount of hand luggages he can bring, because some airlines wouldn't even let him pay for that ability.
He can't insure the stuff and just check it in?I have business insurance it covers merchandise in transit.
Fly private? Purchase 2 tickets? The problem is size or weight?
Weight. He brings lots of stuff with him and they hassle him every time. Last trip he lost his tefillin bec. they made him put it under the plane, and the luggage got lost.If he could pay for an extra luggage, why can't he pay for an extra carry-on?
Just fly an airline that doesn't weigh carryons.
And what if he wants to bring two? He usually brings enough stuff for two carry ons.
a backpack, it's not as noticeable as wheeling 2 carry ons
So I figured out how to bring more carry-ons
