They are not working on the Five Towns until Monsey is up and running. One store at a time.

Why is the strip mall by doughty and burnside Ave not being looked at to put some Jewish stores in there? The inwood community is literally growing all around it-that wud be a lot easier to shop than go into Cedarhurst

The Jewish hardware store moved out of there for some reason

not enough foot traffic. They moved to the strip mall where stop n shop is-right up the block! My dad learns with one of the owners

Why would a different store get more foot traffic?

There is more traffic shopping at other stores in the shopping plaza that the hardware store moved to than at the other stores in the strip mall the store moved from, translating to additional business in the hardware store at its new location.

When they moved, the frum Kehila in Inwood was about a quarter of the size they are now, and growing strong. That being said, the strip mall is dumpy and falling apart. It needs to be knocked down and replaced, or at least major renovations.

Anyways, a frum kosher store can/should move right into Stop and Shop. That is bigger and more central.

Was told there was talk from a national grocer to occupy the soon to be vacant S&S location (but again this was prior to COVID, unclear if anything which was percolating prior still stands). S&S was known to have been leaving this location for a while... as well as specific rumors for another national chain to anchor the Bay Harbor Mall.

they’ve been leaving forever..curious to see who’ll move in-Kroger?
I passed by the building going up in Costco parking lot-it’s pretty impressive I must say-what’s going there? Also It looks like across the street where all the dump grounds was they’ve leveled it and might be a park of some sort. That would be very nice👍
