Brrrr.. That’s really what comes to mind when thinking about this trip. After missing SF’s trip to Cuba and seeing the pictures he sent me, I knew I had to make him plan a Photo DO soon so I can learn a few things. It just so happened that we got talking and with a few others decided to take an adventure out to the middle of nowhere. Yes, it was in the middle of nowhere. Any place with no cell reception is considered the middle of nowhere.
While we were planning this trip the weather was supposed to be sunny & partly cloudy in the mid 40’s. Well how wrong that was. It ended up being mostly cloudy, VERY windy, and in the 30’s, with occasions snow storms. So me being me and counting on the 40’s only bought a long sleeve t-shirt. NEVER, NEVER AGAIN WILL I BASE MY PLANNING ON WEATHER REPORTS.
Now on to the fun parts. First, who knew that a bunch of grown men (and one partial baby) would actually have a decent time walking around a state park taking pictures of nature. Second, when you are out a full day, it is useful to bring a real lunch with you. Note: If you have a wrap with peanut butter, at least add the jelly and make it complete. Third, if you see something that is attracting everyone, this first thing you should do is set up a GoPro to record all the craziness that is about to happen. And finally, if you give a certain someone a pack of gum they will take most of the package and hand it back to you as if they only took one piece.
