I remember CITI agent on phone grilling me about the $1k amazon payment. I told him it is a purchase. he says how come, why? because it says payment & aks me what kind a payment it is. I replied: it is a payment because when you buy something , you have to pay for it right? it is not free. it is a payment for purchase i made on amazon.com. he was satisfied and said OK.

Yes, there are other differences, but this is the 1 difference that makes it very difficult to load it to BB at my local WM. Which is why I wrote afai concerned.

My guess you did not pass GCM smell test but you can give Amex a call to find out.
