I don't see hating. I think what some are pointing out is that many(most) have no experience with tj chips and simply don't know better. These people will likely question why they should spend 50% more since "it will taste the same baked in anyhow". They may be wrong, but they are likely to say even if it is only based on ignorance. As such some suggested that marketing may be worthwhile as may be an introductory sale which will introduce people to the product.

Agree! First eat. Then, read/know the facts & comparable items, and then talk.... Fact: as enumerated so far by all DDFers who have tasted them -- They're delicious.

Eating these now for the first time. Very impressive. Delicious, lingering taste. I haven't had TJ's chips in a while, but I think these are better!

I bought them at 7 mile market in Baltimore for $2.99.

Yes! You've said exactly what many people have PM'd me in the past 2 weeks.

They are very good, and actually taste better than the TJ's.

In 20+ stores now. Thank you very much for the feedback. They are now on their way to CA.

Recommended that you taste the quality for yourself. Until your local store gets in their stock, you may be able to see the quality for yourself:

High quality chocolate for eating, baking, melting, etc..

Cheater! The picture of your chips is the picture on the bag, while Trader Joe's is the actual chips seen through the cellophane. And it's the parve ones so they have to be quite old.

These are the facts. Have you tasted them?

The 2 sets of actual chocolate chips are outside of their bags on the right side of each bag, respectively.
Yes, it's a clear difference in richness. Both in color and taste. (Of course they are of different ages; Plenty of inventory remaining of both types - so we can check again in a few months.)

The TJ chips look like that right off the shelf. Doesn't mean it tastes worse just because it has the whitish look - I have yet to taste the new ones. Speaking of which, when do they get to L.A.? And which store(s) in L.A. will have them?

Yes, that's how they usually look.

The California Gourmet chocolate chips are now in CA and they're available at Western Kosher.
They will be in several additional CA stores this week. Will update wiki when locations have been confirmed.
