Is it okay to use an online service to make a "simple" will? Who gets the assets, kids, etc.
I don't know anything about wills, but based on experience with other areas of law, my general perspective is that simple documents might work if there's never any dispute over anything in the document, but the value of good legal drafting is that it should cover off many question marks and prevent or clarify potential disputes that arise long after the document is drafted.
In your case, if nobody disputes anything then maybe even a signed piece of paper saying "the house goes to Yankel, the Rolls Royce goes to Berel, etc" might work, but the moment anyone disputes anything that might go out the window. And obviously no parent ever thinks their kids are going to fight, but unfortunately it happens all too often.
Also, I imagine there might be other parties affected by a will, like a bank, business partner, etc. It's possible that things could get complicated in enforcing the will on third-parties if not properly drafted, even if all the kids are in agreement.
