Applied for SO, her first biz card. Got turned down :-[ . They don't like sole pro applicants with few revenues and they even  look at her personal cards spending and said they don't like MS habits such as GC purchases and such as etc  :o >:(. Ouch!

How much did u list as her revenue? Was all her spend MS ?
Guess my no income generating blog won't be a good idea. I guess I'll have to brush up my eBay account and roll with that.

I don't think anyone suggested putting down $400 on the application.  Expecting $5,000/mo net income (application) is one thing.  Receiving under $400 in net income (IRS) is another.

Are you suggesting anticipating a high income per month, and then actually reporting to IRS that you made less than that? Do I need to actually report this on my tax return?! / If I don't report anything does the IRS assume that it was under $400 and my initial assumption that I'd be making ... say... 1000$/month in revenue on a cc app was unfounded?

I'm not really suggesting anything - to each their own.  However, every time I do a 3bm I start a new small business as a sole proprietorship.  I am a wishful thinker, so I project that I will have a net income of $3,000/mo.  I can't help it that every time I launch a new business, I end up having $0 in net income.  Well, I suppose I could help it if I spent the time to advertise, recruit clients, etc. but that is way too much work.  However, as a sole proprietor with < $400 net income, there is nothing to report to the IRS.

Sending 1 SM for 10 seconds = 10k UR. Loving it.

Opened my ink like 5 months ago,
Did I word my message wrong?

Thank you for contacting Chase with your interest in the
Ink Bold bonus offer.

With the continual changes and promotional offers for many
credit card products we at Chase will always consider
allowing the newest promotion to be applied to any
qualified accounts that were opened within the previous 90
days of the offer.

In reviewing the open date on the account, I regret to
advise that the account is not qualified to participate in
the new enrollment promotion and therefore we are unable
to honor your request.

Although we appreciate your loyalty, we ask that you trust
that this decision is the same for all members whose
accounts do not fall within this designated time frame.
We feel that adhering to the same policy for all members
outside of this designated time frame is the best way to
remain fair and consistent.

If you have any further questions, please reply using the
Secure Message Center.

Now I just found out that there is a better offer for 60,000 points when spending 5,000$ within 3 months. Can you please match me to the better offer?

You're way too late. 5 months? They match for maybe 30-60 days. Prob closer to 30.

ETA: Just read Dan's post again, where he said typically Chase will match if you applied in the past couple months. Would not call 1/2 a year earlier, the "past couple months".

I never understood this thing about starting a new biz and projecting income. The application asks for number of years in the biz and 1 is the minimum which also makes it hard to turn annual business revenue/sales into a projection.

Do you thank they will have a better promo later? Last year I think it was later in the year and portrayed as Chase Small Business Week whereas here they just increased the bonus without the fanfare.
