Earning mileage: Infants (who don't pay for a full ticket) are not eligible to earn miles.

Luggage: Some people report that their friend or parent flew and got lucky. However, it's best to check with the Airline (on their website or calling them), BEFORE packing your suitcases. Here are some helpful links, plus a summary of baggage allowed for lap infants.
Child paying 10% of fare can check a small suitecase up to 10kg/20lb. Child paying 50%+ of adult fare can check standard baggage allowance (one full size suitcase 23kg/50lb) both are +stroller and car seat. One carry on + booster or infant seat + pump and cooler
1 chacked bag at same rate as adults first bag + 1 stroller + 1 car seat. 1 carry-on diaper bag per child is allowed + pump + milk cooler + (stroller??)
1 stroller + 1 carseat. carry on: diaper bag, pump, carry one size stroller, carseat
1 checked bag up to 50lb/23kg. 1 stroller 1 carseat. 1 carry on up to 13lb/6kg or a carry on size stroller
  • BA
1 checked bag 50lbs/23kg + two of the following: stroller,car/booster seat,travel cot,babyack carrier. 1 extra carryon bag.
  • ElAL
1 checked bag 50lb/23kg. 1 stroller or car seat. NO carry on. (its not like their makpid these days any way  :))
[/list]

Proof: Some airlines require proof of age. Rather bring along some kind of proof, and not get stuck because of an gate agent or TSA guard that had a bad day.

Infants are cute.

I was talking about LX and LH, they are very strict. It makes sense, if a guy flies with 6 people in the same booking so they should let 7 extra pieces?
How about OS?
Also we're talking about 1 extra not 7. Has anyone ever been denied 1 bag when flying with a spouse?

Os is the same as lx and lh. Yes, they will deny you a extra bag flying with spouse. European carriers are strict

Does anyone know what the policy is on LOT airlines? How much could a *S member take? How much could everyone else on the itinerary take?

My parents flew LH to TLV from the states and checked in 6 bags at 50-70 lbs each and did not pay a fee. All flights were LH. Only my father is *G

I know that CO said when they first introduced bag fees that they really only wanted to exempt the elite member, but do to legacy mainframe limitations there's no way to do that.  Everyone on the same PNR needed to have the same exemptions.
Could be the same way with non-US airlines but they just don't publish that.

I can confirm, I flew enough time with LH and LX. Only I have status, wife does not. They would not allow her to bring a extra bag.

FYI Qantas put up their baggage limit for infants. Used to be 10kg now 23kg each.

They can be "linked" but AFAIK it is impossible to combine separate record locators into 1 record locator.

I doubt it.

I'm just surprised that it would work like that.
I know CO Insider said that would not work., but I guess YMMV.
