I'm still on over a week and counting of contacting numerous CSR and supervisors, and none of my $50 SCGC are activated yet. noone has even an estimate on when it will be resolved.

It does seem, though, that the reason none of the activations are working is because the activation link was activating the gift card with one digit off starting "6009" instead of "6109" which is the actual gift card number. so they in essence are activating the wrong gift card - not the one they shipped to you. If you look at the packing slip with your card, you will probably see that the shopping card # listed is one off.

don't know from first hand. seems like it for sure will work online/self checkout. if you bring to cashier, they may give issues. but I believe it says on the back that it can clearly be used for merchandise or membership, so you can always just show that to rep.

I found out about it about 2 weeks ago. I didn't post cuz I'm trying it out. Gift cards should arrive any day now. I will keep everyone posted.

Add both cards then check both boxes. This will bring up a little screen and you can chose how much you want on each card.

Do you mean if I want to sign in as a guest, and then buy the membership? What if I'm not yet a member, and just want to sign up for membership?

Or is it just better to use the first way?

And if you can't make it to the store right away, just look at the card to see if it has a long number and a PIN. If it does, use that to look up a gift card balance on Walmart.com.

The wait was worth it! Sorry I got busy on Friday and totally forgot to post.. But yes, I can confirm that the gift of membership card is indeed a gift card with a pin and everything.... It is used exactly as a gift card in both walmart stores and sams club. Activation is also easier I just clicked activate on the email they sent, and 10 min later the card was up and running... One word of caution: when ordering in several states there will be tax for the membership (I did one to a tax free state, and one to a tax state). The only way to avoid that tax is to physically ship to a state that doesen't charge tax (Ohio, Florida, etc..). If your card does get the extra tax charge your gift card will NOT reflect that. It's a royal pain to get them to add it at the store. I did, but not worth the effort.

Very interesting because on the SC website description it says "Prepaid Membership card is redeemable for 1 year Membership only"

Yes, I got reimbursed on my cc, I did purchases of $21 on one card and a larger amount on the other, the refunded the the cards used for $21 (on purpose?) the question is if now they will claw back the $20 credits

Is this item refundable? I am concerned about ordering this in case tzifanya54's information is wrong (or becomes wrong when Sam's Club sees a spike in orders for $45 membership gifts and decides to send another kind of voucher).

Ymmv as always with sams club. I would have preferred a scgc so I don't have to worry about the credits being removed
