I received an email from Virgin America that my miles are expiring soon. They mention option of transferring to Alaskan. Would transferring one point be activity, and thereby avoid expiration?

When do they expire? The programs become 1 at the begining of the year....

Dec 31st :)
I'm guessing there would be no reason to wait from transferring my entire balance right?

I am sometimes accused of overthinking things. I am still mulling over whether that accusation has merit.

And when i call Alaskan am i telling them i want to go to JFK and then add on stop over in San Diego? or am i telling them i want to go to San Diego and stop over in NY?
Can you confirm this? Did you end up getting an answer regarding the call in? I was told (can't remember when or what the exact routing was) that they can only do a stopover of less than 24 hours. Looking to book CX NYC - LAX (24 hour stopover or more if able to) - BKK (via HKG). There is availability AA J direct for the dates i want. Will they mix AA and CX?

You can only mix one partner+AS.

So only CX and AS? Not AA and CX?

What about VX and CX? Has that become AS officially already? If yes I don't need AA.

NM. That will only occur April 25th... Back to the original Q.

The new system is now in place. Tickets to Asia price out at 70K.

What's interesting is that now any changes to the ticket I booked before the change also up the charge to the new 70K price. Does anyone know if a phone agent would change the ticket without charging another 20K

Any way to get Alaska to waive the redeposit fee? (I waited 30 hours instead of 24 (shabbos). I spoke to supervisor and not budging.
I told her that I will hold the ticket until last minute then cancel it so you guys wont be able to sell, so you would be better off waiving the fees. She told me she cant do it but I should try calling back a few more times and maybe I will find someone who will do it....lol

Help! Finding matching award space for CX flight next week to NYC on both BA and Qantas search engines, but the Alaska agent says it doesn't exist! Does that happen often that both are showing Phantom space?

how many seats are you looking for? I've read somewhere that AS at times makes one less seat available on CX than other partners. not sure if that is what's affecting you or not.

Anyone know if I'm allowed to fly JFK-YVR-SEA with the JFK-YVR being CX and YVR-SEA being AS? Both in terms of a mixed airline award and in terms of cabotage?
