things are starting to heat up in the GOP with real policy differences between candidates more noticeable these days.

One very interesting move that Cruz said was that he would abolish the IRS if he wins. bold statement but I doubt he'll ever be able to do that.

I'm def not in favor of abolishing IRS. I'd vote for whoever would pass lots of tax laws. Preferably without considering them in advance, such as the new partnership audit rules.

Is there any way of giving a negative vote? Like for Ben Carson or for Kasich etc.

I'm just wondering what would happen if someone were to meet each of the candidates (individually) randomly on the street and challenge them by saying "I'm an illegal immigrant to the US, what were you to do to me now had you been president?".

The same goes for Obama. There are many clips of him just randomly mingling into crowds unannounced. I wonder what would happen if someone were to then mention the above statement/question.

Well, if there were no taxes at all, I'd be out of business. But if there was a simplified tax code, my business would be booming as we'd be re-inventing every tax shelter again, and then being shut down by the courts as lacking "economic substance" or something the courts would make up like that, and then reinventing the next generation of tax shelters. Only it'd be easier since we could just go read old caselaw to find out what to do.

The only way you abolish IRS is with a flat tax (even then how do you deal tax exempt?) And that will never happen.

Honestly how do they even propose this with a straight face? How many pages of tax code would you even need to define earned income?

Flat tax is a scam. What about corporations? Partnerships? Already have enough complexity to keep me in business. I can tell you I don't spend my time figuring out how to deduct mortgage payments.
