if they need to be in Brooklyn 2 days in a row for meetings, then it may be easier in Brooklyn. Personally I found the "W" Hoboken to be helpful instead of staying in either Brooklyn, or Manhattan. (However, their SPG category just went up...)

I guess yea if you need to stay in brooklyn but its not that much of a commute from Manhattan

I didn't ask him for details, but that is what he told me.

I agree that it is high line. I just think that if you have a choice to stay there or stay in Manhattan in let's say the park Hyatt why would you want to stay in this hotel?

maybe this is closer to more heimshe food options, or maybe they'll bring some in for a Kosher kitchen?
Also, if you have 2 days in a row of Brooklyn early morning meetings (and/or Shacharis) then this location may be more convenient...

1) There are plenty of reasons someone may need to stay in Brooklyn. Plenty of people have businesses or family they need to visit in Brooklyn. 

2) Park Hyatt is 3x the price

Brooklyn isn't expensive anymore because of Manhattan it's expensive because of Brooklyn. People prefer to stay in Brooklyn for several reasons.

maybe it's geared for millionaires who are traveling from West Coast/LA who want a comfortable location with heimishe food nearby and minyanim in the hotel? (THey don't want to commute to and from Manhattan for meetings/minyanim/Williamsburg food...)
