What does superior even mean though in terms of spiritual beings?

The examples you gave above were of a different variety. And I'd think most people would generally agree.
In regards to spirituality you are right. Women might be superior in that sense, but in regards to today's world men are definitely superior, hence the brocha, just like we make brachos for other physical enjoyments like malbish arumim...

You ignored my main point.

What is superior a car or a tree?
Cars are supposed to say it's good I'm not a tree. Trees are supposed to say it's good I am the way I am. What does it sound like is better?
Who do you think you are fooling? You think you are going to pull a quick one on your Creator? Good luck with that.

I like the way this was phrased

http://judaism.stackexchange.com/questions/52944/why-do-men-say-shelo-asani-isha-and-women-say-sheasani-kirtzono

Quote
This does not imply men are better than woman, this implies that men are better off than women.

This is apparently the intent of the first explanation of Rashi in Menachos 43b when the gemara says a slave is the same as a woman, Rashi says 'for she too is a servant to her husband like a save to his master'. Rashi's other explenation is the one cited in classic works of halacha starting with the Tur inn siman 46, but I would like to focus on this one.

Throughout history women have been subjugated and abused. This unfortunately seems to be ingrained in human nature. Whether you believe in a literal reading of the story in Eden or an allegorical one, at the end of the day the Torah was compelled to point out this unfortunate reality.

We in the modern world have learned to respect and appreciate women, but any step backwards proves the unfortunate reality, as seen in all backwards societies where the woman are subjected and abused.

It is in light of this unfortunate state that we thank Hashem for not putting us in that position. But we should remember that we can overcome all the curses of Eden. We can easy without sweating, we can raise children happily, and we can have equal partnerships with our spouses.

The whole discussion is ludicrous. -(don't take it personally)
It is based on a ridiculous and patently false premise that males and females are the somehow the same.

Men and women are totally different beings. There is no issue of inferiority when two beings are not even in the same race.

What's better a car or a tree??

I am happy as a man and woman are happy as woman. Only the mentaly ill are unhappy with their gender.

Everyone else should thank GD for creating them as he did.
Wow! this seems like the first time I agree with you in a controversial topic.
We're glad you approve. I'll tell the Lord, he'll be pleased.

Ok but it still makes no sense.

Say "thank you for making me a man"

Or "thank you for giving me more Mitzvos as a man"

Or even "thank you for giving me more Mitzvos than a woman."

Why would you say "thanks for not making me be a woman"?
I've heard a reason, though I don't remember the source. That since it says,
נח לו לאדם שלא ׁ נברא יותר משנברא
Therefore it would not be correct to make a brocha shasani ish, rather we say the brochos in a shlo asani version

who usually holds the door open for whom?
A. doesn't show that women are superior, just that its the "in" thing to be nice to women, which probably doesn't come from pure intentions...

who asks permission for marriage from whom?
B.that shows that men are superior and on top and in control but still just trying to get consent.

who is more dominant in the home or kitchen?
C.that shows again that men are superior and that women have to take care of the men.

i think that its obvious that women are superior in todays world whether you like it or not.  :-X
D. nice try but no cigar.  :-X

I have no opinion yet on this topic, but i really dont see your point. You cant say humans are superior than animals because they are different species? If anything the "discussion is ludicrous" because men and women idealy are supposed to be one unit             עַל כֵּן יַעֲזָב אִישׁ אֶת אָבִיו וְאֶת אִמּוֹ; וְדָבַק בְּאִשְׁתּוֹ, וְהָיוּ לְבָשָׂר אֶחָד     So saying men are superior is like saying one hand is better than the other (although isnt a head superior to the toes?)

The  משנה ברורה קכח:כה says:   ולא קאמר לנשים וטף דלא חשיבי לברכם לחודייהו אבל גם הם בכלל הברכה      Doesnt this mean  men are more ״חשיב״?

So saying men are superior is like saying one hand is better than the other...
Most of the time one is more dominate than the other. Are you saying men are more dominate than women most of the time?
