Chase Sapphire Reserve BENEFITS master thread

5/24 applies to this card
Minimum $10K of CL is needed, so if you can't get 10K on an instant, there's another great reason to get declined

There are multiple instances reported on this very thread of someone who was way over 5/24 and did not have PC and who got approval after recon.

The information below no longer applies for 2016/2017 but should still be useful for 2017/2018

Can you still get a 2016 travel credit if you apply now for a Sapphire Reserve card?

People have been reporting various due dates in January. If you get a due date between the 6th to the 25th then your bill will close between December 9th-28th and you will have time to spend the $300 in 2016 travel credit.

It is definitely still possible to get those due dates, but there’s no guarantee. If you do apply then be sure to call reconsideration to see if you can get approved today.
You may also be able to change your payment due date to generate a December statement if your due date is earlier than January 6 or later than January 25th. Just call to have you due date changed to January 25th to have your statement close on December 28th.

From here. Hopefully this will stop the constant questions.

First few cracks at it: rep says it needs to be 30 days for a statement to be 'cut', and therefore I can't have a 12/28 statement close date.

Keep trying.
After a few SM's finally: I apologize for the previous response. I?ve processed your
request to change your first statement date and payment
due date. Your payment due date will now be on the 25th of
each month, effective on your December 28, 2016 first
billing statement.

DP: I booked a car rental through Expedia Local Expert and it coded as recreation, yielding only 1ppd. I call the CSR of C$R and they added the additional 2ppd without a bat of the eye.

She was rather surprised that it did not code as travel being it was Expedia.

Interesting Question:  About the apple pay using a chase visa card and getting $30 off mta etix - if you use a sapphire reserve that gets $300 refunded annually for travel - will I still get the $30 credit from mta etix even if the monthly lirr ticket I'm buying will be credited back due to the annual refund?

Thanks,

You should. The charges that qualify for the $300 annual credit are just like any other charges, 3 points are earned and it goes towards your balance. Only once it posts does a credit apply to counter it.

If your first payment is due Jan 27th, make sure your spending posts by Dec 24th to earn the 2016 credit

Try sm
Not all the reps know you can move it not sure it's possible it's too late but I believe someone just reported sm was successful after a phone rep said they couldn't do it
