We had to bribe the airport officials at BZE (like $400) to let our meat & wine in.

Flew to San Jose, Costa Rica in May 2021, they x-rayed my suitcases and found 1kg meat -- they allowed it through only because it had USDA inspection sticker.

Note, entire EU - import of dairy and meat from outside EU - is strictly prohibited, although in the larger airports inspection is rare.
https://europa.eu/youreurope/citizens/travel/carry/meat-dairy-animal/index_en.htm

"If you travel to the EU from a non-EU country, you are not allowed to bring any meat or dairy products with you.

When arriving in the EU you may have to undergo official controls by the authorities. If you are carrying any meat or dairy products, which you have not declared they will be confiscated and destroyed, you may also be fined or face criminal prosecution."

Those are the rules for pretty much any country on earth. The question is who enforces and who doesn't.

Anyone have recent experience with flying from Non-EU to Venice Airport (VCE)?
Officially, they do not allow any meat from outside EU, but my question is really more if I don't declare, how likely that they'll x-ray my bag?
Thanks!

Direct flight TLV-Varna took away all our packaged cold cuts, let us keep wrapped schnitzel

Cancun - Confiscated tuna wraps

USA - Took away instant noodle soup, only chicken flavor (go figure)

Not sure if this belongs on this board... I posted on Venice master thread but didn't get any good response...

Does anyone know if I could fly from Israel to Venice with a disposable charcoal grill in my check-in? I don't know if they sell them there, so it's easier for me to buy here and bring them with me.
I did a quick google search, and could not figure out if I could fly with them.
Does anyone have any experience with this?

Thanks!

No issues experienced in:
Peru
Ecuador
Guatemala

Galapagos: all bags are thoroughly checked at departure and if approved are then tamper-evident sealed. Expect an extremely thorough examination, they will tear through your bag and check every single thing. I followed all the rules to a T - it's complicated but they will find something if you try to sneak it in. I came prepared with a printout of their list with everything I had circled and the restrictions noted, and they really appreciated that.

One thing I was not expecting was a complete ban on plastic goods - there is nothing online but there's a giant sign in the airport. They allowed me to keep it after I promised to bring back all my trash.

That's the US...no rules.
Mainland to/from Hawaii has rules. I was once stopped at agriculture for having something round-ish in my bag.

Anyone have any issues recently bringing in foods like prepackaged deli and chicken into the turks and caicos?
