I don’t intend on buying anything in these cities, and I am sure that many other people don’t either. It would be nice to use this for charities. [The donated sums could be factored into Maaser, thus netting the giver as well.]
This offer is not directly eligible for charities, but here is an idea.
- I am sure that charities in the above-mentioned cities would appreciate some store credit in the local Kosher grocery store, or any other small business they constantly do business with.
- People interested in donating would provide their credit card details to the charity.
- The charity would collect this info and pass it on (in bulk) to the store/small business.
- The store/small business would charge each card $10, and provides the charity with a credit for that amount. [I guess the store/small business could even take a small cut for the hassle.]
I don’t know anyone who deals with a charity in any of these cities. But if you do, you might be interested in contacting them – it could bring in a decent sum of money for them, if done right.
And if you do, let us know the details so that we can do it too.
