Look at the context of his comment. The first tweeter says he's heard that people may get shamed by using EBT cards, so we should just give them cash. The second tweeter responds, "Everything else about SNAP benefits is set up to shame and fail people. Everything."

I don't believe OP was trying to belittle the poor or oversimplify the issue by telling the poor to "just get a job." The comment was made in response to privileged liberals pontificating on the struggles of using a SNAP card (which, ironically, has actually made it easier than it has ever been to use those benefits). Again, I don't agree with the language used, but I don't believe there was ill will intended towards the less-fortunate.

The difference is having a choice.  When it comes to giving tzedoko, I  decide which type of recipient and perhaps which exact recipient gets  my hard earned  money.
A government program has someone else deciding the criteria. 
When someone gets tzedoko, they realize they're getting money from people, when it's a government program, most don't realize that their neighbors are contributing.

No. OP commented on 2 tweets. You ignored the tweets, and took offense at his poorly worded comment. I tried to bring the context back into it, but I guess someone needs to take CV's place while he's on vacation.

I don't want to go back and forth with you on this, but even if you were correct that this was his intention, even with the context of the tweets his comment says absolutely nothing about what you are saying. It's not a matter of "wording," it is entirely nonexistant. And besides, my point was that even if his point was a broader political one, you can make such points without being unempathetic and callous. The CV comment was cheap and baseless. Peace out.

Beggars can't be choosy, being a begged is not a human right it's a very unfortunate situation and everyone should look how to get out of that situation, and not make themselves comfortable, government is not a good solution for communal issues they'll never get it right and there's no one size fits all, these issues need to be dealt with their respective communities, unfortunately we have many homeless by choice and handing out cash will make issues even worse.
