Yes I called them, and they said that they have to verify some financial information and asked me all kinds of questions.

That's already been reported. I was asking in a case where someone didn't shut down his cards himself, but rather they were shut down by Amex because of the FR.

Swiped over 150k across my Amex charge cards and they suspended my account till I pay back in full before the due date once paid back they will release the suspension and they did does that mean I can go at it again? Or I shouldn't?

They did this to me once before...and yes I'd say common sense dictates to stay away from that again.

I've done this a few times now on my business platinum with no issues.

But there's no arguing if it makes them so nervous it's not a plus for you and your chances of staying away from FR.

If you're running a legit business with legit spending I don't think it will cause an F/R, they don't give you unlimited access so you're bound to get stopped at some point. As you establish your history on the card it keeps going up. I started out on my platinum with a 30K soft limit now 2 months later I'm at 50K+.

What have been people's experience with getting f/r'ed, preemptively closing their cards before Amex does, and after a few months applying again for a new card? Have the new apps been treated as old, or has Amex been strict in requiring additional income verification? I've searched this thread and the MS post but i'm still confused and looking for anyone's input as to their personal experience...

You're confused because there's no straight answer. The straightest answer is: YMMV. Some people have done it without an issue, some have not.

I've preemptively closed a single card (BRG) when I couldn't prove business income. I did later reapply without any issue.
