Rate of growth is much more important than level of prosperity

It's kind of like calculus. You have to look at the derivative not the function.
If you want to be a unhappy person you are correct. But otherwise just be happy. See progress paradox by Gregg Easterbrook, an excellent take on how to be happy in life
Life isn't about checking the boxes. Nobody cares.

Going through some of the states on Fox News, it's not entirely accurate, but not too far off

So FL is called for BO.
I'd call it a landslide victory.

Electorally at least.

Electorally at least.

If there was a popular vote I'd make sure to have my ballot in. They were saying stuff about absentee ballots, so I passed.

Where'd you see that? Most maps I've seen show FL still gray.

According to Nate Silver today, Ohio was totally not the state to determine the election.

"Based on the polls, it appeared that Ohio was the state most likely to win Mr. Obama his 270th electoral vote.

Instead, it was Colorado that provided him with his win –the same state that did so in 2008."

See more at his NYTimes blog.

IMHO they all missed one of the most important things about this election. It is possible “O” will be appointing 2-4 Supreme Court judges in the next 4 years. The rest is all fluff.

I think Scalia and Thomas will hold off until 2016 as long as they are able to.

  • Location: The value of a forum such as this one is not in that one can post a question and receive an answer, but in that the question has most likely been asked before, and the answer is available to him that will but only use the search function.
  • Programs: 1. Search on google. 2. Search in the right board of DDF with a general word or two. 3. Read the wiki. 4. Read the thread. 5. Ask away.

Who's they all? I saw people discussing that. Btw IIRC a new one is appointed on average every (lil more than) 2 years, so 2 appointments would be normal. Feel free to CMIIW

Everyone who writes what effect this election will have and fails to mention the SC.

Four of the judges are currently in their 70's.
