The site includes VAT but I shouldn't be paying it as a tourist.

How do I get it back?

as long as you don't have to pay it they won't charge you at checkout

Yes. You'll get refund on your cc a few days after checkout.

Be careful on prepaid as they charge you in shekels even though website says dollars on the rate so the price can change because takes a few days to post and if use a card that has a forex fee you will be hit by that as well. Though the vat will be returned at check out and they should adjust​ the price to what website says not to what they end up charging because if the difference in the rate

If someone is staying at the Waldorf over shavout please pm me. I want to eat one or two meals there and if I can charge it to your room, I save myself 18% vat did it last dear no problem

Gotta love HHonors at the WAJ (PLEASE don't sell it)!!  I happened to be looking through our account points activity and look what they posted for our points stay during Pesach.  This one had about $80 in charges but with the 2k Everyday promotion and other bonuses I got over 12k in points!

And for another 4 night points stay with no expenditures, we got 8k just for that 2k a day special.  It's annoying if you're spending a lot on a room to only get 2k instead of double or triple points but it worked out great this time and the points earned from these two points stays have reserved me two nights at the new HGI in Singapore (was only 10k a night)!  So far I've only seen the WA Jerusalem doing this and seriously I hope THEY don't pay HHonors for these points, if so maybe that's why they aren't profitable?

I stayed before here at the Hilton TA and not only no 2k a night bonus (which I don't expect on a points booking) but they didn't even give me any points on all the food charged to the room.

Are you a Diamond?  They should have to give you a 48hr courtesy guaranteed room pretty much no matter what  (at whatever the prevailing rate is so it might be high and it may only be one room though, not 3).


On another note, just playing around with reservations, they've got 2nd day Chag, through the end of Chol HaMoed Pesach open next year, March 31-April 5th open for standard rooms, only 76k a night (that means you could use certs for 3/31 and 4/1).  It'd be worth it to pay for the first night of Chag and get those free.  Could spend the last two days either there paid or elsewhere for way cheaper.  I can't say enough about what an amazing experience it was.  I'm not the kind to ever pay for a Pesach resort and using points here got me basically that opportunity at a fraction of a cost.  If you can swing it, I can't recommend it enough.

Is there an issue with the Waldorf Jerusalem if account holder is not there? I heard rumors that Waldorf Jerusalem asks for account holder at the hotel even if certificates  are booked under your name  thank you
