Note that all sAAver flights available on AA.com are able to be booked on BA.  When there are many flights on one day, they may not all be listed on BA.com.  So you will have to call to book it.  Get the phone fee waved because it wasn't able to be booked on line.

NOTE: Household accounts will not allow transfers from Iberia to BA. Make sure you don't have a household account, and if you do, split it up.

NOTE: When booking, erase your Avios number when entering your passenger information. This will make it much simpler to add your AA Advantage number at a later time.

I see a domestic flight on AA with MileSAAver, but it's not showing up on BA (even when specifying LGA versus NYC). BA phone reps can see the space, but right before they ticket it, they tell me it isn't pricing out and that's because it's phantom availability from AA. HUCA resulted in the same response. Any ideas?

It sounds right.  Within 24 hours of a flight, you usually can't cancel.  Even though you booked it less than 24 hours ago, you don't get free cancellation.

YMMV. HUCA. I've gotten a full refund for thsi scenario, but it was within an hour after I booked, so the rep heard my story and issued a refund.

Bump. Been calling for 2 days and nothing doing. Put the ticket on hold with AA and then released it hoping it would fall into BA inventory, but no go. Can someone please help?

It's pointless because BA charges per leg.

I would like to clarify something from the wiki (and I now see that this is re-iterating @Yehuda's issue from last week, but it seems it was never resolved):

"Note that all sAAver flights available on AA.com are able to be booked on BA.  When there are many flights on one day, they may not all be listed on BA.com.  So you will have to call to book it.  Get the phone fee waved because it wasn't able to be booked on line."

Question is: If it's listed on AA.com, can I expect that the BA phone agent will be able to see it and book it? Does it generally require HUCA? (not a trivial undertaking when the wait time is 30+ minutes...although I haven't tried Hong Kong # yet).   Thanks.

IME, it never required a HUCA. I just give them the date and flight number and they have always been able to book it for me, and waive the fee. I've booked many flights like this.

-->>well, I was just successful with this! Got them to waive the phone fee.  Still had to pay 4500 Avios for each segment (BOS-DCA and then DCA-CVG), but I haven't heard anyone suggest there's a way around that. (and I didn't need HUCA, as CS91 just said!)

A few times reps told me that the fact AA shows saver availability does not mean BA has it available.. But they were clearly (proven!) wrong as shown within the 30 seconds it took for them to find the flight I was looking for :) I kept telling them beforehand it would work... So clueless...

Not sure if it's clueless, or lazy, or (unfounded) fear of getting themselves in trouble....

I'm glad you had a successful experience, but there are still cases where it doesn't work, as I recently experienced. BA rep saw the flight had space, but when trying to click "purchase" (or whatever they click), it wouldn't price out and ticket, rather gave them error that there was no inventory.

What can ya do but hope it pops up within the next week...

At least BA has no close-in fee to worry about.

When points are added to your account, ( transfer, ticket cancellation, etc)  you often need to log out and then into the account for them to show up.
