Sorry for being so dense. This has nothing to do with any sign up bonus or the miles you earn for purchases. It is a special offer (if you want to call it that) that will give you 10k miles for doing a 10k BT in the first 90 days. What am I missing?

Did you have a good reason to explain why you were applying for a second card? ---- This is my first applicatoin/contact/relationship I have ever had with Barclays and after explaining why I wanted 2 of the exact same cards they approved me on the spot...

I sure did. I called a few times. They told me there's nothing they can do. They wouldn't move over the credit line from the card I got approved.

The recon associate told me that he wasn't sure why some people get there credit pulled a second time and some don;t but did tell me that a few things would definitely cause that to happen

1. When you call up recon and claim you have paid down some debt that showed on your first pull they will confirm by pulling again from ex.
2. He stated that Transunion system reads addresses different then ex and eq. For example he told me that if you live in a condo/apartment and list the apt # in the 1st address line instead of the 2nd (and its listed on your credit report as a 2nd line- which it should be) that transunion system will not be able to match it up and you will be declined..when you call recon they will pull from ex to confirm the address matches one listed on your report.....

Did they give you specific reasoning...ex. not credit worthy , they don't allow 2 of the same cards , anything?

He mentioned a few times they don't give out two of the same card but he basically said to use the first one and first build some history with them. I asked him to move over some of the credit but nada.

Id like to do a 2bm with Barclays. So besides for the MC 40k cc, which card should I.apply for? (Do they even have other cards with signup bonuses?)

They have a US Air biz as well (should be similar signup bonus), but you might get 2 pulls.

Nope, pretty lousy not worth much besides the sign up bonus.

Darn. I'm about to book a flight with US Air (I accidentally booked a flight on SW for Aug. 1 instead of 2 and I don't want to miss the Siyum Hashas - So I am dropping the SW reservation (for free - Yay!) and looking for new flight to LAX - US Air is coming cheapest) but don't want to pay for baggage.

What other ways are there to get a free bag with US Air?

I'm about to get the Barclays USAir card - (they are giving me $75 off booking the ticket and a 25k offer - which i prefer to 30k and nothing off).

Is there a second barclays card that is worth trying to do simultaneously in a diff. browser?

I am referring to 25k vs. 30k besides for the 10k for transferring credit - I don't bother with that.

That was the same situation I was in. I didn't want any of the other cards so I applied for 2 of the US air cards at 40k signup bonus. I had 2 call recon but got approved for both cards. 1 pull 2 uses = 80k points.

Keep in mind..some people stated that when they call recon they got a second pull...i didn;t but you never know.

Yes...same exact card. Left both FF blank.
