Does anyone think this won’t happen? He will launch his campaign on the south lawn of the White House with a crazy party in the next couple of weeks. He will have three rallies a week for a year until he goes bankrupt and then we will never hear about him again.

I would leave out the part about never hear from him again.

Btw, that may be Trump's strategy. He's not satisfied being just the 45th president. He wants to be the 45th AND the 47th president.

Just to highlight though how different a time that was:
Quote
Unlike the turbulent and controversial elections of 1876, 1884, and 1888, the 1892 election was, according to Cleveland biographer Allan Nevins, "the cleanest, quietest, and most creditable in the memory of the post-war generation,"[184] in part because Harrison's wife, Caroline, was dying of tuberculosis.[185] Harrison did not personally campaign at all. Following Caroline Harrison's death on October 25, two weeks before the national election, Cleveland and all of the other candidates stopped campaigning, thus making Election Day a somber and quiet event for the whole country as well as the candidates.

Inspired by this post:
If (when?) Trump loses, would he be the favorite to win it all in 2024? I say probably yes. Reasons:

1) Trump would probably be the favorite to get the R nomination, as Pence would presumably not want to challenge him directly and he’s extremely polarizing with a solid committed base. Might scare off other serious contenders.
2) Biden/Harris are nearly guaranteed to be presiding over a poor economy, feeling the true effects of 1-2 years of COVID and its accompanying effects, along with quite predictable policy decisions.
3) People are likely to remember Trump somewhat more favorably in hindsight than they do now, where he’s at a relative low in his presidency because of COVID and some recent mistakes. He’ll probably be remembered for the excellent economy he had for most of his tenure.
You can run for President from jail?

I think at this point we can all agree that proper leadership at the federal level could have prevented many of the COVID related deaths in this country.
Why do you think so?
I wonder what people who type "u" instead of "you" do with all their free time.

Just curious, if Trump runs again can her only serve 4 years or resets the clock ?

He’ll be 78 in ‘24 and 82 (!!) in ‘28. He’s obese, low chance he’ll be in shape to run for public in ‘82 regardless of what office (if any) he holds between now and then. That and he can’t run again after being elected twice in his lifetime the way the laws are rn.

If Biden was smart, he would hire Trump as a strategist.

If Pence (or any other republican) would've been president the last four years, with Trump as their chief-of-staff (who was barred from appearing on camera), the presidency would've arguably been the most successful in history.

The policies without the persona was an undisputed winner.

Can never tell for sure how serious your posts are, but just in case... The idea that Trump was the ideological driver of this administration is laughable.

I didn't say undisputed. I said an undisputed winner.

He would've won in a landslide with his policy achievements minus is persona. Is there anyone here who disagrees?

Perhaps not, perhaps yes.

But he was the guts behind the administration.

And yes, a chief-of-staff also has advisors.

Covid is rampant and the economy is shambles. Those are two of the top issues. So yes I disagree just as I disagreed with a landslide victory for Biden.

I stand corrected. It's disputed, but it was highly likely.
