Almost all sales of alcohol especially in the Jewish community do not come from addiction/depression.
Alcohol being legal is legal and alcohol being halachically ok is one of the best arguments for marijuana in general. It's all about once preconceived notions. So if this generation has notions that marijuana is illegal it will seem very bad as we are taught illegal things are bad. But for the next generation it will be legal and they won't have those preconceived notions like we do. That includes rabanim etc. So like I'm saying, just a matter of time.
So most alcohol sales come from a bad intent, and weed a good intent? I hope that's not what you mean
Let me guess you still believe frum people don't commit suicide or molest children, right? 95,000 people per year in the US die from Alcohol...
I didn't say alcohol isn't bad I just said that most alcohol sales aren't coming from a bad place especially in the Jewish community when all the guy wants is bottle of booze for his Kiddush. I can't say the same about weed.
All cell phones were also banned at one point. And the internet. etc. It'll just take time. As society shifts on these issues it seems to me so will it shift in the frum world.
Please learn what almost all means and what most means. Because you just switched and flopped the 2.
-1Cell phones and the internet have positive uses, recreational marijuana does not.
My question to everyone against the kol koreh. Do you think that there shouldn't be one and let people live like the rest of society, or should there be a boundary and Marijuana should be before the boundary?
When is the kol koreh on cigarettes and cigarette sales coming?
Rav Wosner writes that it's assur to smoke cigarettes, too.
Most of this does not apply to cigarettes.
Let me put it this way: outside of strict religious usage (kiddush, etc.), I'd rather my kids smoke marijuana than drink alcohol.
Other than a d'oraisa of venishmartem meod?
Ok so that might be a problem that they only ban one thing and not the other, but I have no problems with them putting out a boundary. Imagine in a couple years when society starts to normalize Psychedelic drugs and there are no boundaries, our Jewish community will get destroyed.
